Love: Now and then

TODAY, LOVE is the passion of the 21st century. A century where love is in air in different forms of culture. Love is nothing but a world of dreams where people try to forget the reality of life.

In today’s modern world, love actually means exchange of gift and valuable things, which makes people happy. According to me, in most of the cases, if you want to love a person you need to have money to spend on the person you love.

Mother's Day Special

MOTHER’S DAY? What Mother’s Day? Oh, I think it falls in May. Well, I’m not too sure about the date - maybe it is on the 8th or 10th. Anyway, it is okay. We’ll find out about it from someone and wish mom then.”

Now, would you ever say anything like this if it was your best friend’s birthday or better, your first anniversary (i.e, the day you met your boyfriend). Obviously not. Your life revolves around your friends – so much so, no matter how busy you are, if your best pal wants your company for her shopping, you leave everything aside and make sure you are with her, right there, to help her choose the right clothes and give expert advice – whether the piece of clothing makes her look fatter or slimmer.

Adults choose Mom over Dad!

FOLKS WRITE songs, poems, and even sport tattoos praising mom and now the results of a new national survey should make moms feel even more special.  Just in time for Mother’s Day, a new national poll found 70 percent (7 out of 10) adult children would overwhelmingly choose their mom over their dad to move in with them if their elderly parents could not take care of themselves.  The survey was commissioned by Senior Helpers, the nation’s fastest growing provider of in-home care for seniors.

By a slightly smaller margin, 67 per cent of the respondents say if mom was not able to move in, they would prefer mom live on her own with help, rather than move into a nursing home or assisted living facility. In addition, 80 per cent (8 out of 10) of both men and women say they would pay out of their own pocket for their mom or dad’s care.

Celebrate Mother's Day with sincerity and gratitude

MOTHER’S DAY is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This year it falls on May 8. According to Wikipedia, it is celebrated to honour all mothers and express gratitude for the hardships they bear in bringing up a child and their contribution to the humanity. Most countries including US, Australia, Canada and India celebrate it.

Generally, mother is a biological and/or social female parent of an offspring. And, a healthy connection between a mother and a child form a secure base, from which the child may later venture forth into the world, says Wkipedia.

Reviewing Obama's first 100 days

IF WE'VE learned anything from the 100 days since US President Barack Obama's inauguration, it's that the man cannot walk on water. He is not divine.

In the wake of a Messianic campaign and historic Election Day victory, Obama faced enormous expectations when he took office January 20, as America's first black president.

In the US, there was even a vague hope that economic concerns and overseas woes would miraculously vanish overnight. They haven't. Global markets continue to slump and economic news remains grim. Nuclear aspirant North Korea has grown more defiant and the Taliban has strengthened its foothold in Pakistan.

Random thoughts of a mad woman

BELOW ARE some of many random thoughts, which keep haunting me, and keep me mesmerised ,they keep me hooked to you .These are all courtesy Khalil Gibran .I remember when Amrita (Pritam) spoke of first melody, first painting , first words . I envy them to have thought and said it before I do. I curse myself for not being the first painting ,the first melody, but I am there, I was there and will always remain…..will always remain ….

You ask me how I became a mad woman. It happened thus: One day, long before many gods were born, I woke from a deep sleep and found all my masks were stolen—the seven masks I have fashioned and worn in seven lives—I ran mask less through the crowded streets shouting, “Thieves, thieves, the cursed thieves.”
